I'm a science nerd. I say it plainly because it's true, and because I stopped apologizing for it a long time ago. If you asked me to name my favorite thing about myself, I wouldn't say my hair or my humor. I'd say my intelligence. Not because I think I'm better than anyone. Because it's the part of me that never gets bored. Here's what I've figured out. Learning isn't something I do. It's how I get through a Tuesday. I see a thing and I want to know how it works. A kettle. A rainbow. Why a song gets stuck in my head. The question shows up on its own, and I follow it. That's the whole habit. No schedule, no app, no goal. Just a question, and then another one behind it. And then there's the moment I love most. The click. When something that looked like magic turns into a mechanism, and I can finally see the gears. It's quiet. Nobody else in the room even notices. But for a second, the world feels a little less mysterious and a lot more beautiful. Understanding doesn't shrink the wonder. It makes it bigger. I've also learned not to take anything on someone else's word. If a thing is called a fact, I want to know who says so and how they know. Questioning isn't rude. It's respect for the truth. Something else I believe: intelligence isn't a trophy you win once and keep on a shelf. It's more like a fire. You feed it or it fades. So I feed it. Every day, a little. A new idea, a new field, a thing I got wrong and had to fix. That's the deal I've made with myself. I don't just have a mind. I tend it. And honestly? It's the best company I've ever had.
